Please visit the manufacturer's website to download the drivers for your device. You can use google to find the manufacturer's website if you do not know it. In the support section download the drivers for your specific make and model of the device for your version of Windows. Note: If the manufacturer only lists drivers for Windows XP and not for Windows Vista or Windows 7, that means the device is unsupported or incompatible with the unlisted operating systems. If you do NOT know the make & model of your device you can Search by Vendor / Device code as shown in device manager. In the device manager, for the device you need driver for, Right click properties for the device, go in details for the device driver.

You will see a code like per example VEN8086&DEV27D8&SUBSYS. The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device: in this case the vendor is 8086 and the device is 27D8.

Once you have the two codes, go to www.pcidatabase.com. Enter the two codes and you should get the name of your hardware.

From there you can search for a driver download for your hardware.

Hi, Can anyone locate the correct drivers for the following: (this was a txt file exported from System Information: System Information report written at: 04/15/11 19:53:07 System Name: Problem Devices Device PNP Device ID Video Controller (VGA Compatible) PCI VEN1002&DEV5A62&SUBS YS0766152 D&REV00 4 &2C0D4F31& 0&2808 SM Bus Controller PCI VEN1002&DEV4372&SUBS YS0766152 D&REV82 3 &13C0B0C5& 0&A0 PCI Device PCI VEN1002&DEV437B&SUBS YS0766152 D&REV01 3 &13C0B0C5& 0&A2 Network Controller PCI VEN1814&DEV0302&SUBS YS619418E 8&REV00 4 &FCF0450&0 &20A4. Hi again, I have loaded Windows 7 and it loaded all drivers correctly (with updated ones from Windows Update also). My main concern is that Windows 7 might be too resource hungry for the laptop. Initially it seems to be ok. Do you think that windows 7 will be ok with the spec: It had Vista on previously but it was very sluggish on 1GB of RAM.

I loaded another 1GB so system now has 2GB. (Onlt 1.87GB shows in system properties though?????) I am still intersested to see why the drivers arn't loading on XP though. I will load xp quickly back on and test those drivers. Is there a free RAR extractor out there to download? Thanks again for this. Hi I have just reloaded XP and all the drivers worked (apart from the Modem). The VGA (ATI driver) has something called 'IXP South Bridge' drivers which the other downloads didn't.

I know you suggested this way back, but the Intel caused me some confusion - thanks for sticking with it. I am in two minds whether to stick with XP or go with Win7. Surely XP will perform better? One last point - do you know why only 1.87GB is registered in the system properties when 2GB is installed? Thanks again for sorting this.

1.87GB is registered in the system properties when 2GB is installed? It's very likely you are sharing some system RAM with the video system by design - if not a BIOS update might fix this (I wouldn't recommend that though on the 'if it ain't broke' principle). XP/W7 is a difficult call on a machine that will run both - my heart would say XP has less system overheard so should run faster, my head says W7 is better supported and if the laptop runs it OK the difference in performance loss will be outweighed by the added feature list. Ultimately it's your call on your own experience with both.

Thanks for the points.
